Back in Town (The Kingston Trio album)
Back in Town is a live album by the American folk music group The Kingston Trio, released in 1964 (see 1964 in music). It reached number 22 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart and is the final principal album recorded by the Trio for Capitol Records. The Trio's seven-year contract with Capitol ended in February 1964 with one album due. Unable to negotiate another contract, this live album was released and the group moved to Decca Records.[1]

Allmusic critic Bruce Eder noted the differences between the old and new trios, writing "...what a different that passage of time makes—whereas the original group, at the outset of its history, could do little wrong on-stage, the Shane/Reynolds/Stewart trio... shows little care here. The singing is often ragged and the performances sloppy... and little of what's here would qualify as representative of the trio's best work."[2]
